Why You Deserve a Home Remodel from Kopke

You’re ready and it’s time.  You’ve imagined relaxing in a spacious Jet tub and stepping out onto your heated tile floors.  You’ve imagined spice racks in the kitchen, and an organized pantry large enough to accommodate your Costco/Sam’s Club purchases.  Maybe an integrated beverage cooler separate from the refrigerator for adult beverages and soft drinks!  You can picture your new space, have decided that now is the time, and the search has begun for the right remodeling company.

I’m sure you can imagine how great your home will look and feel after the remodel is complete, but it might be harder to imagine that the process will be free from headaches.  You’ve surely heard that the remodeling industry has a reputation for being nightmarish.  While taking on a large project inevitably has its challenges, we ask you to pass those headaches onto us.

Bathroom Design Trend: Open Showers

The two most recent Bathroom projects I’ve photographed have both involved open shower concepts. They were both designed by Roseann Liccardello of Kopke Remodeling & Design in Sterling Heights, MI.

West Bloomfield Stone Shower

This first bathroom absolutely took my breath away. We transformed this 1950’s PINK EVERYTHING bathroom into a tile and stone paradise. Check out the details inside of this shower:

We lit the shower with one tiny LED light, so that when the rest of the bathroom is dark, it almost feels as if you are showering inside of a cave, with tiny bit of sunshine peeping through the cracks. Showering here would be an incredibly relaxing experience, I’m sure.

St. Clair Shores Tile Shower

This shower has no threshold between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, just seamless tilework, and a slight slope toward the drain. Many bathrooms with open showers will also have freestanding tubs when space is ample. This allows for the best of both worlds!

As you can see, both of these showers feature similar recessed shampoo niches with different tile/stone patterns inside. This is an incredibly popular design trend which are as functional as they are pleasing to the eye.

Bruce Township Glass Shower

For those who don’t feel comfortable with a completely open shower, the frameless, full-glass shower is still very popular. It gives the illusion of open-ness, but retains the comfortable enclosure. These all-glass showers are a pain to keep clean, though! You have to squeegee them after every use, lest get reprimanded by your head of household!

The open shower concept is fairly new, but I see why it is gaining so much popularity. They give designers more creative room to play, they can feel very natural, and with proper design, can be incredibly low maintenance! Would you consider an open shower for your home?
